The original twin five-spoke design the soul of the Model 5 and it shows even greater flair with this new Model T6. The bold, wide-spaced twin spokes are unique to the Model 6 design, which are fused with yet another spoke line that separates and shows a sculpted hollow to reach a new level of sophistication.
The center ornament and ring are sculpted from 100% aluminum and treated with cobalt in an alumite finish process that brings out a high shine. The logo is engraved 1mm deep into the centre piece and set off with a dark blue enamel that highlights the AVS letters. And engraved letters reflect pride in its Made in Japan heritage.

ULTIMATE CORED CAVITY TECHNOLOGY

 
Cutaway view shows cross section of the uniform hollow. The cored cavity technology, started with the new AVS VS6 five years ago, has evolved with every model, and now stands at the peak. Cored cavity construction, which can be applied only to forged wheels, offers the optimum in both rigidity and light weight, but of course demands high technology. Know-how like high-precision sand mold (core) and metal mold, temperature control, and cooling of molten aluminum are hallmarks of these made-in-Japan wheels. What’s more, the two-piece construction, adopted to allow the sand mold to be withdrawn is integrated between the rim seamlessly and invisibly. This allows for performance equal to or better than one-piece construction. It’s the result of many years of technical innovation.
The sand mold forming the hollow is withdrawn from this hole in the back of the spokes. The perfect roundness of the hole, and the exact thickness, demonstrate the high precision of Yokohama sand molding technology. The rubber ornament that covers the hole is a genuine component engraved with the AVS logo.

The conventional Model 6 featured user-applied spoke stickers. But the Model T6 has a thermoelectric printed logo that offers a more dynamic appearance and a smoother finish.
