| ADVAN Racing RG II is the second generation of the innovative RG model of the ADVAN Racing brand launched in 1998. The dynamic look is far superior to the original RG, with the spokes dipping toward the center while strongly curving. What’s more, its weight did not increase at all from the RG, which won praise for its light weight, yet stiffness and rigidity have greatly improved.
RG II's standard design ranges from 7.5J to 9J offset 35. The 9J, 9.5J, and 10J are GTR designs, but all sizes are based on the RG-GTR design. That means both designs have the spokes rising from the rim, then curving and dipping toward the center of the wheel. This maintains the consistency of the design. The only difference is that GTR spokes dip at a different degree. The disc design has a larger diameter, with long spokes starting immediately from the flange. The flange contributes to light weight and design excellence with a twin-flange shape that has a large concave. Slightly thicker spokes also make a huge difference in the overall dynamics. The trademark ADVAN Racing logo is cast between spokes. The logo is over 1mm height, with the lettering surface milled after coating for a sharper contrast. Cutting between spokes is impossible with normal processing machines, so it takes more time to cut each line of lettering with high-precision three-dimensional cutting machine (except for Bright Chrome color). The spoke surface features an RGI logo decal. Adoption of the rim flow forming process adds stiffness and rigidity while making the rim even thinner. The center disc increases high-tensile strength compared to the RG for improved handling characteristics. |
